Holiday Recap Part 1: The National Tree
Since B and I weren't able to put up a Christmas tree at home, I wanted to go check out the National Tree near the White House on the Ellipse. The National Tree is surrounded by several smaller trees representative of all the states and territories of the US. These are called the Pathway to Peace. Nearby there is a yule log, the Nativity Scene, and Santa's workshop where kids can visit the man in red! All this is within view of the White House and Washington Monument. It's really beautiful.

With the temps in the teens, the yule log came in handy. B's face was frozen at this point (no smile!)
